Update on Visitors to our Homes

March 14, 2020

Working closely with public health officials, peopleCare continues to do our part to keep our residents, staff and communities safe and reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Following new directives from the Ministry of Health, peopleCare’s Homes are only able to receive essential visitors at this time. Essential visitors include anyone with a loved one in the Home who is very ill or dying.

We will continue to actively screen essential visitors, including checking for symptoms, asking about recent travel history and contacts and taking temperatures.

We understand the anxiety and concern these necessary measures may cause, and we appreciate the support of our families, communities and partners as we keep the focus on resident and staff safety and well-being.

At the same time, we will do everything we can to keep life in the Home as happy and normal as possible for our residents. Activities and programs will continue. Favourite meals will be enjoyed. And loving care will be provided to all.

Anyone with concerns about their loved one in a peopleCare Home is encouraged to call the Home and speak to the charge nurse. The Executive Director or Director of Care are also there to support you.
